Black and Gray Work: Just what it sounds like.
The tattoo is done with only tones of black and gray. This style
originated in the prison systems of America, due to the prisoner's
difficulty in obtaining colored ink. When several tattooists, notably
California's Jack Rudy and Good Time Charlie Cartwright, saw the
work they realized that there was great artistic potential in adapting
it for use in tattoo shops outside of the penitentiary walls. They
went on to develop this ultra refined and highly detailed style that
has become so popular today.
Traditional: These pieces have bold black outlines, strong black shading, and bright colors. The style was first developed to meet the needs of busy tattooers near military bases (it was a no-nonsense and quick way to tattoo) and to utilize the limited color palette available to a tattooist in the thirties and forties.

Fineline: Delicate outlines, often highly detailed. Black and gray work is almost always done in this style, as are many color pieces. The success of the finished tattoo depends a great deal on the artist's use of negative space, and his or her refraining from adding yet more detail. An overly detailed fineline tattoo, or one that was not carefully planned out, may dissolve into mush after a few years.
Tribal: Bold, black, silhouette style designs.
Most of this work is based on ancient tattoo designs, though nowadays
artists tend to go more for the feeling evoked by the traditional
designs, rather than copying them exactly. It's a wonderful strong
look that, when inked by a skilled tattooist, will certainly stand
the test of time.
Realistic: Photographic quality work, usually
portraits or nature scenes. This picture of Jimmi Hendrix is one
of Saz. Not every tattooist will end up managing to do a completely
life like image so be careful if thsi is what you want to research
and find a really good tattooist.
Custom: Original work designed just for you. Most of mine are original designs and a lot of the work I have seen Hazel and Saz do are original designs custom done for the person being tatooed.
Oriental: This style of tattooing is more concerned
with approach than subject matter. It utilizes the entire body as
canvas, rather than the western approach of adding a tattoo here
and there as the spirit moves you. The Oriental style usually incorporates
swirling patterns and figures from eastern mythology into the designs.
P
amela takes the number 7 spot because she is the
proud owner of one of the most tattooed images. Everyone had a barbwire
tattoo in the 90’s, and Pam was a big reason for that.
Even Ben
Affleck had a barbwire tattoo before he had it changed
to a rose bush, haha.
Brazilian model Ana Beatriz Barros has a lovely cute tattoo on
her back so it gets a vote !
Cheeky & sassy tattoos! Besides I love Charmed so am a fan anyway !

There
is something kind of sexy about those tattoo's that women have hidden
in places they choose. I think it is also great because often they are
women you don't think would have tattoos at all. Perhaps that is why
I love mine. Because ultimately I like to think of myself as a nice girl.
Just a nice girl with that slight edge now. That hint of wildness that
is shown by those slightly rebellious tattoos.
Robbie!
Ok so he's a guy and I tend to admire womens tattoo's. No I am not gay
but for some reason I guess I think of how another woman's tattoo's would
look on me!. Robbie gets in my list because for sex factor tattoo's are
something I love on men! I like tattoo's anyway but always notice tattoos
on men - especially if the guy is fit and the tattoo is hot! As it happens
although I like his music (early stuff anyway) I think he's a bit of
a nutter and probably a real pain in the arse but hey I love that tribal
arm piece so its in my list!
I
love butterflies. Its kind of a signature thing. My Mums tarted it
and started calling me her butterfly in letters to me when I was travelling.
My first tattoo was a butterfly so I adore the two butterflies that Rhona has on her belly. If I had a belly tattoo it would be these two butterflies!
Rhona Mitra is best known to me for being the model who played a live action figure - Lara Croft to promote the games!
I
adore kelly. Its the rock chick in all of us that I think I like about
her. I long to wear Ramones t-shirt slogans, bright red lippy, black
eyeliner, tight jeans and strut about like Olivia Newton John once
she had transformed into that fantastic vision of rebel with a cause!
I adore the Osbornes and think Sharon is utterly fantastic. You just feel that as a family bizarre though they seem there is a lot of love. They may bicker and argue day and night but they are as tight as a familyu should be when it matters! That is a lovely thing.
My personal favourite !
The number one spot has to go to Angelina Jolie. I didn’t even have to think about it. Angelina is one, if not THE, sexiest women on the planet, and some of those tattoos just help her sex appeal. That tiger tattoo on her lower back is just killer. You know what though? Even if she only had a tiny tattoo under her foot, I’d still give her the number one spot.
