Maps - Guatemala

This is Guatemala. My main reason for wanting to visit this country is to go to Tikal in Northern Guatemala. To visit the Mayan ruins.

I aim to travel into Guatemala from the Copan ruins in Honduras then probably fly from the capital city near to Tikal and take the bus the rest of the way.

Guatemala's volcanoes are the highest and most active in the America's, its Mayan ruins the most impressive, its earthquakes the most devastating. Four of Guatemala's volcanoes are currently active: Pacaya, Fuego, Santiaguito and Tacaná.

 

Guatemala has a reputation for being quite a voilant country after 30 years of civil war which it is just recovering from so travellers are told to be wary. I will probably make this a short trip while I am staying in Honduras and just take a small rucksack for the trip. Hopefully I will also find someone to go with me too.
