We have moved - posted on 09/05/2010 by Tonya

we have movedWe have moved house:) It's another rental but this time we have a long term lease & can rest easy at night. We have made our mark with some new paintwork & some garden work & of course the much called for trip to IKEA !!! Happy happy days. We are both sleeping so well at night as it is so peaceful.

It is number 9 again which seems to be my lucky house number. All the houses that I have moved into that I have been really really happy and safe and secure in have been number 9 - how mad is that. Purely coincidence probably but one of those mad little true life ism's !!

Moving house is supposed to be one of the most stressful things you can do but actually we both enjoyed it. Zachary slept at Grandma's for a week during the actual moving part so he went from one organised house to another no disturbance at all.

Zachary riding his bike - posted on 17/04/2010 by Tonya

Zachary's riding around on his bikeWe inherited this bike from Auntie Melody and Joshua. It used to be Joshua's and right now is just the right size for Zachary at 14" seat height. Now all he needs is a helmet & pads & he is all set. Of course we didn't have helmets & safety equipment when I was a kid so it seems almost weird that now its the first thing you think od. Of course it hasn't stopped Zachary having a go at riding or coming off. Bless that caused tears & the declaration that he was never getting on it again. Right now its living in our new lounge and he rides about using his feet on the wheels to make it go backwards. Tricks already !!!!

Making Curtains & Stuff - posted on 09/03/2010 by Tonya

Zachary's curtains & frogI bought this lovely fabric from IKEA for Zachary's bedroom. We decided to make curtains and cushion covers. I also had some fabric left over so I made a small beanbag frog too. I remember making them way way back at MGC with sponge filled spots on their backs. I cut the scrubbing sponge up and set the sewing machine on one of my fancy stitches to sew the spots and create a lovely pattern. The frog needed eyes so we went on a trip to Ledbury Wool shop and bought some large wooden buttons with small pink ones for the insides. The finished items all look great. The curtains are blackout fabric lined too to make sure that Zachary's bedroom is nice and dark at night. I felt quite the domestic goddess !!! he he
