My wonderful smiley boy !! - posted on 18/08/2009 by Tonya

Zachary and his lovely smileZachary and I walked over to Victoria Park to meet up with Mum, Melody and Joshua. I took loads of photographs of the boys laughing and playing and got this lovely photograph of Zachary smiling at me. The new play equipment at the park is great fun and the shortcut to the park means we can be there in only 10 - 15 minutes. It is great to spend this time having fun and laughing together. I hope these photographs of those days and my notes help him remember what a lovely happy childhood he had and how much I adore being his mummy :)

Study time - all my books ! - posted on 26/07/2009 by Tonya

Study Time all my Oceanography booksMy exam is October 20th and I still have two more assignments to hand in. One this weekend and one just before the exam. I am enjoying bending my brain around all this study even if it is frustrating sometimes. It is much harder finishing these studies through the Open University and therefore studying alone than it is being at the University with everyone else. I miss the solitude and peace of the library buildings, the other students that can help with anything you need to talk through with someone and of course the tutors whose doors you can knock on for extra help when needed. Instead there you are at the kitchen table with your nose in a book and in my case calling my Dad for advice on Oxygen Isotopes LOL :)

The window to the soul - posted on 08/07/2009 by Tonya

The window to the soulThey say the eyes are the window to the soul. I wonder what my eyes say? LOL. An inperfect frequently over emotionally charged nut case who has a truly blessed and lucky life which has been amazing, full of excitement, searching for knowledge and wonderful travels mostly in sunshine which is wonderful :)

Visiting family - posted on 07/07/2009 by Tonya

Cousin's kiddies LOLZachary & I went to visit my cousin Mandy who lives with her Mum, my Mum's sister, her husband Paul & her daughter Alex. Zachary adores Alex and tells me they are family friends which is even better than being friends because they are family. I am teaching him well :). Mandy & I get along great which is nice. In fact lots of us cousins get along really well. Some of them remember days when we were young & hung out lots more than me as I was one of the youngest among them. Age is funny though you get to a point where the years that make a difference when you are little don't seem that far apart when you are much older. Anyway we were on the way back from Fiona's party so we stayed overnight at Mandy's. Zachary was relaxed straight away and was happy chatting holding court in the lounge within minutes. He even went shopping to Asda with Nan (aka my Aunt) on his own no problems at all. It was lovely to see everyone and I always think we should visit more.

Playing in the garden & ageing - posted on 28/06/2009 by Tonya

Zachary & Hope playing togetherPlaying in the garden today & making the most of what sunshine we get before the summer takes a nose dive. I don't often like photographs of me these days especially close ups I guess because the inevitable onset of age is starting to get to me. I look at pictures of me and wish I had that lovely unwrinkled skin I had when I was 21, I look at even pictures of me in my early 30's and realise how terrific I looked and wish I had my figure and body back. I can work at my body. I can get back into my running and the gym but I can't stop time passing and I can't stop myself from getting older. So I suppose you should embrace getting older and get used to it and not be afraid. Here I am in all my glory. No make up no creams just me ! :)

Hope's Family Birthday Party - posted on 27/06/2009 by Tonya

Zachary & Hope playing togetherHope has her birthday the same day as Mum and the lucky little girl gets to have three birthday day's. A day trip out with Mum & Dad, a family birthday party and then a proper big birthday party with cake, theme & lots of kids. The big party / real party is on sunday so the family party is the day before. Saturday was the day we go down for lunch, cake and play. We had a picnic outside which was lovely and the kids raced around playing. I could predict tears at going home time as Zachary was having so much fun with Hope I knew he wouldn't want to leave. Matthew often cries when he has to go home after a play date at our house and Zachary gets a wee sulk on bless him. This time he just refused to say bye to everyone and threw the toys he was playing with on the floor. Bless him he had such a lovely day playing with Hope and I have some great pictures of them laughing together in the play house. When they grow up I am sure they will decide if they want to be friends but now even though they don't see each other too much they clearly love playing together. Family are great !!!

Mum's birthday tea & strawberry Pavlova - posted on 26/06/2009 by Tonya

Strawberry PavlovaIt is mum's birthday so it is her choice of birthday tea and day out. We went for lunch to our favourite lunch place and then I made a lovely tea. Jacket potatoes with chilli and strawberry Pavlova for desert. Ok so I cheated a bit and bought the Pavlova crown ready made from this lovely Deli in Barnards Green. Mum was having her hair cut so zachary and I went and bought all the fresh fruit. It is much cheaper in the supermarket and actually just as good if not better quality so I shan't be doing that ever again. Anyway whipped up cream and sliced strawberries and it looks and tastes terrific. Perhaps that should be my 'Come Dine with Me' desert LOL :)
