This
photo is one of only a few with Zachary & I in it together. Most of the time I am
the other side of the camera. Its dated July but I have only just found
it & thought I would add it in. I have been away for a few days & not had
chance to post about my break away but thought I would add this note to
say I missed my little boy lots!! He misses me of course but is fine & knows I do sometimes go away to work & he knows he is well looked
after by grandma & grandad. When I get home he seems really happy & wont let go of me for ages. This time
he can also say Mummyy so he keeps saying it!!! I don't mind a bit!

9th
August Zachary walked on his own. Having made the decision to do it all
he needed to do was get his balance sorted out. Today he went from wanting
to walk but knowing he needed help which seemed to frustrate him to just
getting on with it and toddling off on his own. He also started talking.
Boo when they played hide& seek and then later on his name 'Zachy'
just as Hope says it. It really is leaps & bounds now. No longer a
baby & more a toddler. I can understand why women have more babies
when their kids become toddlers because you almost wish they would stay
cuddly babies for ever! That said I love this stage because there is so
much interaction and every day something new to discover and learn. Zachary
loves music and often strums his fingers across the guitars in Mum's room
but today Josh, Zachary & Grandad played music together. Well if you
call loud out of tune strumming with Grandad singing the Bee Gees music
that is.

Josh
has been having swimming lessons. He starts swimming lessons at 8:30. Zachary & I
are not sleeping well & we both really love our sleep so we stay in bed & let
them get up & leave then we get up lazy later on.
We both prefer our own rooms & sleep better that way. Zachary makes far
too much noise! Typical man takes up the whole bed, burps, talks
& passes wind! Tuesday - watching Josh has had an effect on
Zachary. He has started to want to sit on chairs like a big boy & read
or watch TV just like he sees Josh doing. I think he thinks Josh is really
cool & wants to learn from him. I think its a case of hero worship.
He has also decided to start to walk - 'at last' everyone says. Thing is
Zachary has been able to walk for months he just doesn't seem to have wanted
to actually do it. Now he does! Now that he can climb onto chairs & is
starting to walk there will be no stopping him. Watch out world!

Saturday
4th August Mum & Dad picked up Joshua - its their wedding anniversary
weekend. Zachary & I went into worcs - spent money in waterstones,
M&S & the ELC. Sunday - Dad took the boys to the shops then we
all swam. Later on we spent some time in the garden as it was so sunny.
Zachary started drinking out of a cup all on his own. It seems like a small
thing but its a clever thing for a child to learn to do. He is growing
up fast now. The strange thing is that watching Zachary grow up makes me realise I am growing too. I suppose I never expected to become a Mum and I certainly
never expected to love it this much. I did not expect to be back living in in Malvern
and I guess perhaps being Mum is making me feel like I am growing up at
last! Well maybe just a bit anyway. I still have to satisfy my urge to
travel & swim under the sea. Those are passions I aim never to abandon.
I can just be a mum who takes long holidays to scuba now & then!!! Lets
hope as Zachary grows up he does not mind coming along!

Ok So I am a bit behind with my blog & stuff right now! Sorry... I am just mega busy. Overworked and vastly underpaid. What am I on about I don't get paid I'm a Mom we do it for free & when I do work I work for the family mob - enough said it's also unpaid! Ah gotta love life! One of these days I will be able to go back to a real job maybe! The question that remains is will I still have a brain that works by then! Joke!
Did you know that we are the only country in Europe that do not pay Mum's to stay at home with pre-school children!
What I have been trying to do this last week is sort out a bit of a muddle that I got left with because a friend of mine has sort of let me down. She can't really help it life has just got her down right now and that's just that but boy it was a headache this last week trying to not loose either money or my mind while I tried to find someone to take her place on this trip we were supposed to be on! In the end I have cancelled 4 now and left it at that. Bit fed up because should have been sitting in an outdoor restaurant sipping wine tonight but hey ho! That's the way the cookie crumbles as they say! All I can say is I hope it rains in Spain! Sorry Lynds!
Russimco Toys & Nice People - posted on 25/07/2007 by

I wrote an email to the people at Russimco to ask if they could help us get parts for one of Zachary's favourite toys. They sent me a complete new toy. They said the box was adamaged so could not be sold anyway. We were really amazed and really pleased as it is Zachary's favourite take apart toy. He is really good at unscrewing it all & then trying to put it back together again. I took this photo to send to them to say thanks.
It kind of restores your faith in thw world to know that there are some
really nice thoughtful people out there! Acts of utter niceness just don't
happen that often. Love is sadly shorter in supply than greed, terror &
evil. What a shame and thanks to Russimco for making our day!

Thur 16th Zachary walked down the drive with my Dad. He seems perfectly capable of walking if & when he wants to he just wants to do it on his own. He seems to have made the decision that if he is going to do this walking thing it will be when he is ready to have a go and do it without help. Until then he seems to want to have a go now & then to see if he has the balance and when he realises that he can't do it on his own he goes back to walking on his knees. He isn't crawling any more he is doing this strange walking thing on his knees. Independant little tyke! Wonder where he gets that from? Mind you all this time I am waiting fior him to walk & once he starts I will be wishing he would stand still for a minute!
