Saturday 27th November - bye for a while!
Time to say goodbye for a while. I am heading home to Mum
& Dad's for a while to relax. Time to take
advice & put my feet up & enjoy the last
2 months of my pregnancy. I am getting pretty
heavy now so am looking forward to some R &
R. Christmas is coming so it will be nice to
relax
& have some time for the family before I
am busy with baby stuff. I am looking forward
to a couple of shopping trips too. Buying my
baby stuff like buggy, bedding etc. I also need
to put my hospital bag's together. Baby's bag
with some clothes, blankets etc. My bag with
spare clothes, underwear, toiletries etc etc.
My sister in law is going to help which should
mean an excuse to shop ! Can't wait. As a goodbye
we had lunch in the Fat Cat in Bangor. My 3rd
lunch there this week with different groups of
friends.
Sunday 28th November - Last photo of me + bump
This
is the last photo of me with bump. On 28th november I moved to mum & dad's
for a while. The plan was to chill out for Xmas & New Year then wait
for baby to arrive while keeping feet up
& taking it easy. Best laid plans & all
that ... 24 hrs later I was being admitted into
hospital with labour pains. I was going into
labour 9 weeks early. It was a real shock I can
tell you. I hadn't got to that point in the books
yet
& had no idea what the pains I was getting
were. Imagine my surprise to discover they were
actually the real thing not practice contractions
or anything like that. At least I didn't feel
so bad after making Mum & Dad drive me to
hospital at 3am.
Initially the hospital tried to stop me going into labour since I had not actually started to dilate. The drug used was called Ritidrine. Unfortunately it has nasty side effects amongst them hypertension, elevated blood pressure & pulse. Not good for someone with a history of viral heart infection. In the end it was making me so ill and putting my heart under so much strain they took me off it & hey presto I started having pains again. Unfortunately Hereford hospital although they were great do not take babies born as early as 9 weeks premature so I had to be blue lighted by ambulance to Worcester Infirmary. The worst 45 min's of my life & I am sorry to say the air was blue in the ambulance & it wasn't anything to do with the lights !
Baby Zachary born 9 weeks premature. Read my experience in hospital with
him here !
It was a shock and an emotional journey but he is simply gorgeous!
