They say a change is as good as a rest. Well sometimes it is true that it is nice to get away from home and have a change of scenery. We spent a week in Swansea close to the Mumbles with a very good friend of mine and her little girl. It was lovely. I adore the area it is so pretty. We found some amazing restaurants and had a really great day out at a safari farm - 'Folly Farm'. We even found some Meerkats to photograph just for my Mum & Dad who love watching Meerkat Manor on TV. The rest of the world can wait while Zachary and I just have fun. |

Time seems to be passing so fast this year and I don't seem to have done anything at all apart from be mummy. I suppose you can tell I am a new mum because my life is totally consumed by this small infant. He is just such a ray of light though. I can't remember when I laughed so much. I go to sleep every night within seconds I am so knackered but I always fall asleep smiling. |

Every day is filled with love and laughter. This tiny little personality is such a ray of light and joy that it is hard to do anything but smile and laugh with him. He seems to think I am incredibly funny which I guess is a nice thing. We are still letting the world go by without us and just laughing the days away. I would much rather spend my day laughing with Zachary than read the papers and read about another murder, another child abused, another war. The fact that such evil exists at all is so hard to imagine when you see the innocence in the smile and laughter of a child. It breaks my heart to think what must happen to a child to take that away from them. I can only swear that I will try to make sure that never happens to Zachary. That like me he grows up a happy laughing child. How lucky we are! |

Well its July and lovely and warm. I have a hammock up in the garden and if you close your eyes you can imagine yourself somewhere hot and sunny by the sea. Zachary has started sleeping most afternoons for a few hours so I get some rest too. I keep trying to read a book but inevitably fall asleep in the hammock. Every day I read the newspapers to see what is happening in the rest of the world but still feel very much like I am living in that baby bubble. Just baby and me! Right now I can't imagine doing anything else and can't quite believe that just 3 years ago right now I would have been sunning it in Central America working for Coral Cay. Wow things change. |

This is Zachary's first ever time to the playpark. He clearly loves being on the swings. With any luck he will have the adventurous soul for life that his Mum has. I love being outdoors and doing stuff and I am sure he will too. |

Mum and I completed the Race for Life and raised £300. Thankyou very much to everyone who sponsored us and helped us to raise the money. We marched rather than ran so that we could stay together. We raced for Carol (my Dad's cousin in Sheffield) and Mum's everywhere! Our time was 45 minutes. |
